Objective:To explore the relationship between the expression of Vav1 protein and clinical biological behavior, prognosis of gastric cancer, and to analysize of the relationship among Vav1 protein MMP-2 and TIMP-1 of the metastasis associated protein. Methods:Expressions of Vav1,MMP-2,TIMP-1 proteins in gastric cancer and paracancerous tissues were tested by immunohistochemistry.Data of clinicopathological characteristics and follow-up were also collected. Results:The expressions of Vav1,MMP-2 in gastric cancer were higher than in paracancerous tissue(all P<0.01),whereas expression of TIMP-1 was lower in gastric cancer than in paracancerous tissues(P<0.01).The expression of Vav1 in gastric cancer was correlated with the tumor differentiation, tumor infiltration depth, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage(all P<0.05).Five years survival rate in patients with Vav1 positive was 26.26%,and the negative was 50.82%(P<0.05).Cox proportional hazard regression showed that the positive expression of Vav1 was an independent risk factor affecting the prognosis of patients(P<0.05).The expression of Vav1 was positive correlated with MMP-2(P<0.05).Conclusion:Vav1 is involved in the invasion, metastasis of gastric cancer, and positive expression of Vav1 may be an independent risk factor for the prognosis of patients with gastric cancer. |
